HAGIA SOPHIA: VOLUME II

Father Kenneth M. Dos Santos, MIC’s new book, Hagia Sophia: The Wisdom of God as Offered to the Modern World, Volume II, is a timely and helpful contribution to the on-going work of the New Evangelization. The aim of the New Evangelization is essentially to re-introduce to the People of God and to the entire world the person and message of Jesus Christ who is the Truth of God made flesh.

We live in an age and a culture that is becoming ever-more rapidly intellectually and morally relativistic. Even in some quarters of the Roman Catholic Church, the very existence of immutable truths and human actions contrary to the Divine and the Natural Moral Laws are being called into question.

Father Kenneth’s brief book is helpful for the busy parish priest who in his pastoral ministry, particularly in preaching and teaching the truths of the Catholic faith, seeks to introduce his parishioners to the person of Jesus Christ who is “The Splendor of Truth.” Every chapter introduces the reader to many citations of the Catechism of the Catholic Church which the late and beloved Pope St. John Paul II called “this new, authoritative exposition of the one and perennial apostolic faith.” These brief chapters are both catechetical and apologetic.
